Yes, instant something -- attraction, chemistry, vague familiarity. Followed by curiosity with intense observation. Then banter establishing a dynamic. The heart-pounding adrenaline rush. The beginning of a cat and mouse game. Ah, those were the days!
The clincher that always sealed the deal was a momentary glimpse of vulnerability in an otherwise dynamic exterior -- the lion with a thorn in his paw. But even before I became a covid hermit, the lions appeared to have gone extinct, or at best declawed by too many years in captivity!

I'm sure they exist here too. If I'd really been looking for one when I first moved here, perhaps I'd have gotten a job at a feed store or such to be "where the (old) boys are." But I was too focused on doing up my house, doing up a Will, managing finances and dental work and so many other pop up distractions, and I really wasn't motivated. At all.
Life is simpler without that emotional rollercoaster.
