Real life psychopathy:

The psychopath is smiling, cooing, petting the dog. MY dog. This is usual behavior. Psychopath loves dogs, see.

I don't realize the psychopath is torturing my dog, right there, with me in the room, until when? The dog yelps, cries out in a pain, why?

The psychopath was crushing the dog, while petting the dog, just enough to terrorize the animal.  This happened many times, until the crushing was too intense; the animal cried out (in my presence).

Think I'm making assumptions... no. The psychopath owned up to this, why? Because it was another way to own me.  This person could torture my dog for months and months; I had not the slightest idea.

Maybe you can see how this other material provides cover for an actual psychopath.  Guess what! No dirty looks or mean stares.

Try and picture this.  I knew this person did something to my dog, but what? In that moment, I was entirely captured.

In my personal experience, the best way to deal with a a person who has a legit personality disorder (not just a jerk) is to trust your instincts. Listen to the animal inside of you. Even if you can’t QUITE put your finger on why you don’t like that person, let them know in NO uncertain terms, nicely , that you smell a rat and won’t tolerate any bs.

Not sure what in my chart compells me to do things like this…. but I have told more than one person strangers and family alike… I don’t like your face… watch yourself!
