This is another post, its sole purpose to reassure. About 25 years ago I was leaving the city where I grew up for a small town of 35,000 people. I had some concerns over finding people I could relate to in such a small pool but the Aquarian I was dating at the time reassured me in this way: (This is from my book by the way)
“You miss me? Then why do you think I should go?”
“So you can be happy,” he said.
“There won’t be anyone there like you. How am I going to laugh? I’m not going to have any Capital F F fun.”
“Elsa, that’s not true. Of course you’ll have Capital F F fun. You are Capital F F Fun. I’m going to be stuck here with Cousin…”
“Cousin” was a pain in the ass, but his point was wherever you go, anywhere in the world you will always find people you can relate to and in fact this is exactly what happened. I went to that little town and I was out one night when I spotted this man, he was 6’7″ and he was making all kinds of racket. He was just impossible to miss (5 planets in Scorpio and a Leo rising) and next thing you know we were sitting next to each other at a bar singing Arlo Guthrie’s Garden Song: “Inch by inch, row by row… gonna make this garden grow…”
We’d both just hit town, see? And not knowing anyone, we were stuck at home the night before watching PBS (the only channel available out in the sticks where I lived) and this song had been on. We both noted it because we were bound and determined to make good our fresh starts and I wound up running all over the land with that guy. I married him actually and I am watching the same thing happen with the soldier.
The soldier is not keen on Colorado and in fact was mocked without mercy by his brother for moving here per their relationship. But this has not stopped him from colliding with 2 ex SF guys, one fighter pilot and finding a fight club that is actually specific to a certain obscure type fighting he likes to do.
Today he dropped off his truck for service and ran smack into a Civil war buff from the south who filled him in on the local battlefields and now they want to go out there with metal detectors…
This has all been accomplished in 2 weeks and you just have to marvel at the universe and in particular, Saturn.
I often tell clients how easy it is to judge whether or not you are on the right path. If you are doing the right thing, the universe supports you like this and if not? Well if you are kidding yourself you will hit walls everywhere you turn and this does not mean it is easy. I don’t think life is easy at all but cooperating with it helps tremendously.
I think the universe gives copious signs and signals as to what path to take. I have always heeded them and while it has wound me up in some very sticky places and pissed off legions of people, overall I have no complaints.
Do you cooperate with the universe or tend to fight it? What has been the overall result?
christy – that book is on my hard drive waiting for me to die, I think.
Hmmm…I have no idea. The universe neither gives me “yay” signs or “nay” signs. Everything is stasis these days.
ohhh Elsa! Where is your book? I want to buy it!
I cooperate with the Universe. Yes ma’am! :::smiles and nods and looks over shoulder:::
i’m learning how to cooperate.
it’s pretty persuasive ;P
I needed this today thanks. <3
You’re welcome. 🙂
Me too! Thank you!
I really needed “this” today:
“I often tell clients how easy it is to judge whether or not you are on the right path. If you are doing the right thing, the universe supports you like this and if not? Well if you are kidding yourself you will hit walls everywhere you turn and this does not mean it is easy. I don’t think life is easy at all but cooperating with it helps tremendously.”
I used to think there was something admirable about trying to push through walls (Aries Sun), but after getting pummeled one too many times, perhaps I’ve finally learned to cut my losses and listen to the universe.
Thank you Elsa!!!
“I used to think there was something admirable about trying to push through walls”
Me too! I thought it was admirable to make things harder than they were so I could prove how hard I had to work to obtain even the smallest piece of reward (saturnian flavored chart) but now I am learning to trust signals when they come and utilize them to maximize my potential. No more Martyr!

Yes, Saturn rules mine too (Cap rising), Scorpio Saturn at MC. I seem to always make things more difficult for myself — feels like subconsciously having to prove “Hard Work = Reward” to myself rather than others.
Yet I so often easily find and show others how to make things easier for them — Virgo Moon?
And I know from experience that wherever I go, “my people” are there — simply need to be out and about to encounter some. It’s just painful to leave the ones I already have…
Thank you. I have Virgo as well, the energy that does the thankless jobs. One step at a time we have to tell ourselves. Or, full steam ahead in the case of your aries!
The cool people always find me. If there’s one neat, real person in a crowd of a hundred they will gravitate towards me. I don’t fight the universe but Im a libra and I am indecisive. I question things. I never question that there is a message in everything but I question exactly what that message is sometimes. I think whatever is put In my path is there to facilitate my growth. I know this. But I don’t always know that exactly what I should do with the thing in front of me.
Me, too — I question, I waffle. I blame my Libra Neptune in 9th opposing my Aries Sun and squaring my Nodes. And I wonder if the same things would appear in our paths if we chose different paths?
The cool people find you because you’re cool!
Ha:) thanks WbyWH.
I’ve bumped into this old post and it’s perfect reassurance for me … reading at an early morning hour … wandering toward the next steps to Wherever You Go. I love how you twisted this phrase that usually ends with “there you are.” “Your people are there” makes the journey that much more boldly my own. Great! Thanks Elsa.
